Documentary Wedding Photography Toronto

From intimate City Hall ceremonies to receptions at the Distillery District, Evergreen Brick Works, and the Art Gallery of Ontario— and everywhere in between— we've documented love stories across some of the most iconic and hidden-gem venues. Wherever your day takes place, we bring the same candid, observant approach, to every moment.

Documentary wedding photography is about truth— the unguarded laugh, the nervous hand holding, the way you looked at each other when you thought no one was watching.

 Frequently Asked Questions

What is documentary wedding photography?

To us, documentary wedding photography means being fully present without ever interrupting. We work as candid wedding photographers — quietly observing, staying out of the way, and capturing the moments that happen naturally when no one is thinking about the camera. The deep breath before you walk down the aisle. The tears during toasts. The dancing that goes too late. These are the moments that carry the most meaning, and our role is simply to notice them. The result is a wedding gallery that brings the full feeling of your day back to life — the joy, the nerves, the nostalgia, and everything in between.

Do you offer engagement sessions?

For documentary wedding photography in particular, engagement sessions is so beneficial! So much of what makes candid imagery feel authentic is the ease and comfort between you and your photographer (hopefully us, hi!)— and that takes time to build. Couples who shoot with us before their wedding day are noticeably more relaxed on the day itself, which means more natural, unguarded moments, and a stronger, more confident, final gallery. Honestly, it’s a win-win for everyone which is why we offer a discounted session if you are booking a wedding package.

Do you travel outside of Toronto for weddings?

Yes, we regularly serve the Greater Toronto Area including Oakville, Hamilton, Guelph, Milton, even east all the way to Prince Edward County and Peterborough. You can find us in cottage country— in the Muskoka area and Kawarthas all summer to fall; in Gravenhurst, Huntsville, Magnetawan, and out to Minden and Haliburton.

For international events we have an all inclusive destination wedding photography package to simplify the process as much as possible. Take a peek at our travel notice page to see when & where we are travelling throughout the year. If listed, we will be accepting work in that location with no additional airfare and/or accommodation fees.

“You have made this entire journey so much fun and have brought such a calming, happy aura to every experience (in person, through email, over the phone and through text). As we mentioned […], after our first email I remember yelling downstairs to Kevin, "I found our wedding photographer! Her name is Hannah and I feel like I already know her! Call off the search!" :-) Just like I knew you would back in February when we first chatted, you have captured the feeling of love and joy in every photograph. You are so incredibly gifted and we couldn't be more thrilled you were by our side capturing these special moments. We appreciate you so much and everything you've done for us.”
