A Morning Maternity Session with Iulia & Khash
If there are 2 things you hear us repeating over and over again let it be this:
Being invited back into our couple’s lives— with an anniversary photo session, maternity, newborn, or even for a just because session— is truly the highest compliment you can give your photographer! Highest! Compliment!
When possible, we will always ask for your patience so we can have the best photo session possible and a large component of that is having the best weather. And if that means we have reschedule 3x and change locations to somewhere entirely different, then so be it! 99.9999999% of the time it is worth it! (I actually don’t think there has been a time where it has not be worth it, but just in case I’m forgetting something I’m going to omit the .0000001%)
In case you haven’t already gathered, these two things are exactly what happened at Iulia & Khash’s maternity session and it was a dreeeeeeam. After photographing their wedding last year, and having so much fun even on the hottest day of the year so far (and if you know me / us, you know that we are cranky in the heat lol) it was the greatest joy to learn that they were expecting and wanted to shoot together again!
We had originally planned to shoot at Jefferson Forest but after rescheduling a few times because of feeling under the weather, and then because of the weather itself, we finally decided to change locations. Jefferson Forest, while really lovely and really beautiful, especially in the fall, is quite enclosed and on rainy / overcast / anything but sunny days it can feel dark on the trails with the tree cover. They ended up selecting the Oshawa Valley Botanical Gardens, known for its peony festival, and let’s just say we have a new go-to spot for all of our friends looking to shoot east of Toronto!
It ended up being such a beautiful morning spent with two even more beautiful people, I truly could not have asked for a better location, better weather, and a better experience :’) And that’s just me (the photographer).
