Lauren & Ian’s At Home Maternity Session

We’ve said it once and we’ll say it again: being invited back into our couple’s lives to document another milestone is the highest honour!

To know that you enjoyed your time, your experience, and your photos with (from) us that you want us to return one more time to capture a new chapter of yours makes us feel warm and mushy and so so happy :’) And this is the case with Lauren & Ian and their maternity session. We shot with them a couple of years ago and showing up at their door for this session, it felt like we were picking up where we left off.

At home sessions are one of our favourites whether for your wedding / elopement, engagement session, for newborn photos (because so so practical), and in this case for your maternity session. Lauren & Ian have technically had this house for a few years but have spent all that time up until now renovating it (mostly themselves!) and only recently moved in, so they thought a special way to commemorate this was by shooting in their new (old?) space.

I think the theme of these photos was how we normally are; the things they do at home together on any ordinary day like cuddling out on the couch, sitting at their island like they do every morning, hanging out with their cats, and even laying in their room like the usually do. This shoot was not only a celebration of the new life they will be bringing into this world in a few short weeks, but also a commemoration of who they are, right now.
