Asyan & Jake's Wedding Portraits at Centre Island

let this session be a testament to being able to take your wedding portraits any time…

Asayan and Jake had actually gotten married in Mexico with just immediately family, had their photos taken there and everything. But being from Toronto they also wanted to celebrate with photos here so they booked int this little photo session wearing their wedding attire (which BTW Asyan’s gorgeous dress is from Reformation!) Though this was the only photo session they’ve had like this, we love the idea of making it a tradition— putting on your formal wear, the same or similar clothing— every year as a way to celebrate your anniversary!

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again but shooting at the waterfront is truly our happy place! It doesn’t get any better than watching the sunset over the horizon, and bonus points for having the skyline in the background. To check these boxes we hopped on the ferry and went to Centre Island with A&J. Admittedly we had actually rescheduled this session a few times; in part because of the forest fires and poor air quality, and in part because of other inclement weather days. We like to be flexible for engagement (or in this case, post-wedding portrait) sessions and try and shoot on the best day possible. On your wedding day we would never say ‘sorry it’s overcast and isn’t ideal, let’s reschedule!’ but because we have that flexibility in these cases, we do like to take advantage if needed and we promise it is so worth it!

If there’s anything you take away from this session— other than stunning sunset portraits— is it this: there is always a good time to get dressed up, in your wedding attire or otherwise, to take photos!
