Amy & Michael's NYE Elopement

There’s something about an elopement on new years eve that is so romantic

As much as we would love to shoot a full NYE wedding eleganaza extravaganza we all actually prefer spending the night with our loved ones so this little mid-day elopement felt like the perfect balance between the excitement of NYE + celebrating a wedding + still getting home at a decent time haha. Of all of the times we’ve been at city hall this year (it’s been a lot) I’m always curious if this was people’s original plans or pivoted plans, and so far it has always been apart of everyone’s original plan!

We connected with Amy & Michael not too long before their wedding and between all of our busy holiday schedules we didn’t actually get a chance to virtually meet beforehand so colour me surprised walking into City Hall and seeing the most stunning couple, especially Amy in her vibrantly red gown! It was raining all day but both families braved the elements following the quick ceremony to take a few phots outside. And Amy & Michael themselves as we continued walking around Nathan Philips Square and even as we meandered over to Osgoode Hall.

Amy’s dress (and later their unintentionally matching umbrella) was such a beautiful wash of colour on an otherwise drab day, it was such a honour to spend our little time together on NYE to celebrate these two lovely humans.
